Our history

At Nielgaard Glaskunst we create our very own tradition of Danish glass art.

Handmade, unique and with lots of heart.

Our journey didn't start with a grand plan, but with chance and a dream of working with our hands and creating something beautiful.

I, Karin, have always had a passion for creativity, but after almost 30 years as a legal secretary, I felt it was time for a new chapter. When the opportunity to take over a small glass art workshop arose in 2017, I jumped at the chance – and I have never regretted it.

I, Daniel, had a different path in mind. I studied computer science, but it quickly became clear that I couldn't stay away from glass art. Working with the material, watching the shapes being created, and making something that spreads joy quickly became a passion.

Family business

Today we work side by side in our workshop in Jyllinge, where we produce all our glass art – from classic Christmas hearts to charming snowmen, guardians, figures for Easter and Halloween and specially produced figures for big family parties. Most of the year we are busy cutting, shaping and firing glass in the kiln at +700 degrees.

Unique Danish glass art

We love seeing glass art come to life in Danish homes – and around the world when tourists take our designs home as a special souvenir from Denmark.

Our products are handmade, and we want to maintain the quality, craftsmanship and tradition.

For us, it's about creating something we can stand behind.

Running a family business requires long days and lots of work, but we wouldn't trade it for anything. We hope our glass art can bring a little extra coziness, tradition and joy into your home!

Thank you for following our journey. ❤️
Kind regards,
Karin & Daniel

Meet us at markets

When the calendar hits October, we replace the workshop with the various Halloween and Christmas markets, where we have the opportunity to meet our customers face to face.
